Laying Down Control ... Yuck.

I've come to a conclusion. A good conclusion.

It takes so much pressure off of me. I'm quite happy about this revelation.

Here goes ...
There's nothing ... and I mean NOTHING ... anyone can do to stop God's plan for your life. The only person who can stop God's plan for your life is you. No one else.

Why would I ever think that man could get in the way of God's plan for me? Ridiculous.

There's example after example throughout the Bible where God called certain people to do certain things and NOTHING anyone else could do could get in the way of that plan ... not false prophets & accusers, not lions, not enemies, not armies, not big fish. God's plan always wins out!

Knowing this means that I don't have to interfere in anything I might think would go against God's plan for me. I don't have to try to control any situation because God's already in control.

He loves me and wants the best for me just like He loves you.

You don't have to try to make something happen. God has a plan.

Then, here's the hard part: Learning to be content with what God's plan is.

God's plan for you may not be what you originally thought. I've learned that God knows way more than we do. What I might see as my desire or my calling may be only a selfish ambition.

God's showing me that I have to be content. He will use me in the way He desires to fulfill His plan for me and for others. I just have to be content.

I'm getting there.

But, honestly, there are times of frustration, disappointment, and times I'm just unsure.

But, if I say I want to be used by God, then I have to lay down any control I may have over my own life and my own desires. I have to lay down control so that He can take control.

Hard stuff.

But, I'm learning.

And, I think I may be getting there. Being happy and content is a good place to be.

My job is to just be faithful.

I'm here.
In this spot.
Trying to lay it down.
Accepting that God's will is infinitely better than my own.
But sometimes, when you want something so badly, it is hard!
Thank you for reminding me that I'm not alone in this.
