It should be an interesting Saturday.

Instead of sleeping until 8:00 or maybe even 9:00 a.m., I'll be up at 5:30, setting up tables for the massive garage sale we're having AGAIN. (We had one last year and I thought I would not be doing it again for a very long time, but I just accumulated a lot more stuff. Remember, I made $400? I could use that for New York.)

I will be frustrated because there will be people here, ready to shop, when I open up my garage doors, even though it starts at 7:00 a.m. Really, people ... it's not that great. You can wait that extra hour. This isn't WalMart the day after Thanksgiving.

I will be haggling with some lady over paying 25 cents for a JELL-O jelly bean mold.
I will be watching as La Petite Belle cons all shoppers into buying cookies and lemonade.

I will watch as some lady tries to stick her big size-10 foot into my size-7 shoes and thinks they fit as her heel hangs off the back. Am I going to tell her they're too small? Nope.

I will be drinking lots of coffee and eating the traditional powdered donuts (only bought on special occasions). Who doesn't love a good powdered donut?

I will be doing some laughing and eye-rolling with my friends, Carlie & Tiffany, who each have their fair share of stuff to sell. It's massive, ya'll. This is just a picture of half of the garage. We can barely walk in it.
I will start to feel tired and gross at about noon.

I will be counting my earnings by 1:00 p.m. ... then trying to figure out a definite plan of action for Beau and I to not spend the money on something else (hoping we make enough to purchase our plane tickets) ... of course, minus the money I've already spent at my own garage sale ... how dumb. But, look what I got from Carlie.

I will be napping by 2:00 p.m.

Have a great garage sale! A friend of mine had another one last weekend to raise money to adopt a baby from Ehtiopia. She made a whopping $1800!!! Maybe you'll score big and get your whole NY trip paid for. Good luck!

yikes! i'm needing to have one too. as a matter-o-fact, i could give your garage some competition. :) hope you get that plane ticket taken care of... that will make it all worth while. we usually have the people who can't speak english send their young kids to haggle with us. fun, huh?

i think our stinky face book will be going in the attic (even though it's falling apart). my girls said they want to read them to their kids. *sniff*sniff* i can't save everything, but some things are hard to part with. must find tape.

Hope all goes well for you gals this weekend!

Holey Moley Girl!
You know how to put on a Garage Sale.
It is time for our annual Street Sale as well.
We (kinda) look forward to it since we get repeat customers year after year.
The neighbors look forward to it because Big Shooter puts on the chef hat and grills lunch for everyone and the Crumb Snatchers set up their lemonade and brownie stand to make their "pool snack $" for the summer.
By the time we pay for hot dogs, pop, chips, lemonade, brownie mix, and advertising the Merrell Household nets at $0.17...
Life is goooood.

I too will be up at 5:30 to help with a garage sale! One of my best friends is having a fund raising sale for her adoption. The big draw back for ours is that we are transporting everything from her house 15 minutes into town to the church parking lot. I am sure this location will bring in a lot of traffic, but oh how I wish I could just pull everything out of her garage! I will think of you and somehow find comfort in the fact that I am not the only blogger out there having a yard sale tomorrow!

We're having a church yard sale here tomorrow morning. What a way to spend Spouse's supposed day off, huh? I guess pastors don't get those anymore. *sigh*

Hope we both raise lots and lots of money! Ours is for our building fund.

I loathe garage sales . . . get disgusted with "shoppers," hate the mess, getting organized and setting up. Girl I feel for you . . . except for the coffee and powdered donuts part.

Hope you make lots of money and time flies for you.

Wish I was close enough to come dig through your junk. I know you have awesome clothes. And I just love a yard sale.

WELL? How did you do?!

Oh man! I missed it! I would love to go to your garage sale. :) I'm SURE I could stuff my size 7 1/2 foot into your size 7 shoe... :)

Ooo you snagged some good stuffs! I love the necklace with the circles. Hope your sale went well. Last 2 yard sales I had were horrible. The one was with a mom in a mom's club that I belonged to and I sold - not.one.thing. For the other, I stayed up til 3 a.m. getting everything priced & ready to only sell maybe 3 things. I'm done with yard sales.... even if there are powdered donuts.

Oh yeah, love the jewelry, you did good! I'm trying to catch up on some blogging, so I'm a little late, but I do hope you made enough money to help with your trip.
