Famous People I've Met or Been in the Same Room With

#1 - Did I mention Lisa Whelchel and I are friends? More like I'm a better friend to her than she is to me. I mean ... I'm here when she needs to talk. She can call me whenever and I'll be there. She just never calls.
#2 Steven Tyler ... "Dude, looks like a lady" to say the least.I was eating with K Belle at one of my favorite restaurants when we lived in Tulsa, Zio's. He was there too, eating with his family at another table. I pretended I didn't even see him so that he wouldn't feel uncomfortable. Beau says I should have gone up to him and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Tyler ... zippee dubie dib dee do (sung in a Steven Tylerish fashion)."
#3 Regis Philbin, with his lovely wife, Joy - We ate at the same restaurant in Vegas (notice how I didn't say "Las Vegas" like someone who didn't frequent this town ... for me, it's just Vegas ... even though this was my one and only visit), Wolfgang Puck's, Postrio, at The Venetian. Obviously, I have a celebrity palate.
#4 Ali Landry - Don't know who she is? She was Miss USA, the Doritos girl, in Bella & numerous TV shows, and married to Mario Lopez (now divorced). She and I worked together at a local boutique for about a year. She left to do modeling in Europe & I left with my new husband for Tulsa, OK. Believe it or not, I think I got the better end of that deal. And, yes, she really is gorgeous.
#5 - Finola Hughes - Remember when she was just a dancer and not a TV star? Well, I used to be just a dancer too (My dream was to be a ballerina). She practiced in our ballet studio for a local performance. I was there in the studio with her. Cool.
#6 - Steve Kanaly - "Dallas" ranch foreman I met at a local rodeo when I was kid. Got his autograph and everything. Don't laugh. "Dallas" was huge back then.
#7 - The Jonas Brothers - The same day my oldest daughter cried from being star-struck. Read more about that here. Not sure why the photographer couldn't give me one minute to even get my eyes open.
There are many more Christian artists & ministry hot shots that I'm not mentioning because I wouldn't want you to think I'm a name-dropper.

I was nearly knocked over by Christain Slater.
ALthough I didn't know it was him at the time, he just looked like some guy that needed to wash his hair and get it cut.
Turns out he was filming Untamed Heart where I was shopping and I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking, I was worried about all the looks I was getting from a group of people...
I was heading toward the down escalator and he was coming up. Wham! right into me. He braced me and said "I'm so sorry." Which I thought was so weird because people that look like that only grunt right?
It wasn't till I was in the car and talking to my boyfriend when he said "DO you know they're filming down here today?"
"Filming what?"
"That movie."
"What movie?"
"The one with that guy in it."
Then I remembered somwething I read...and HOly CRAP it HIT me. I ran into Christain Slater and he apologized to me!
No wonder why those people were staring at me, they were held back by police and I have NO idea how I was meandering around a closed off "Set" in the mall.
It still baffles me.
Oh, and I've met several Miss Americas. (perk of your mom running a pagent I guess. For the most part some were VERY nice and some well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't personality that won them the crown.)
Oh and I met the New Kids back in 1989.

I want the other list of Christian artists and ministry hot-shots. :)

My only celebrity encounters include a bunch of country music artists (my folks are fans so when I was a kid I got dragged backstage with them) and Bebo Norman. Bebo made up for all the country artists. At the time I swore I was going to marry him because at the time (in college) I couldn't handle all his hotness. Then he had to go off and get married a few months later. At least I got a picture with him.

Oh, and how can I forget Lisa? :)

Wow, wow, wow. I have no claims to fame. Except that I read your blog.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... :) If I saw Steve Tyler in a restaurant I don't know, that would shock me I think. Who are the Jonas Brothers?

*kidding*
One of my preschoolers recently got really up close & person, then whispered that they were going to be on TV that night. Then she said, with a twinkle in her eye, "Da Donas bwudders are hot" Now you don't know about hotness when you're 4 unless someone tells you, so of course I had to find out who said it. It was "grandma"!! Ew! *L*

I'm not worthy to even read your blog. The only star I've ever met was Jerry Clower (is that how you spell his name) and do you even know who that is? LOL

The only time I've ever seen anyone famous was in Tulsa.

Weird.

Jewel and her boyfriend/husband were coming out of the door as I was going in and she held the door open. And I said thank you. And she said you're welcome.

What is it with Tulsa?
