And I ra-a-an, I ran so far away ...

I'm heavily burdened this morning.

Between the delicious filet with loaded baked potato, to the BaskinRobbins Love Potion #31 (twice) , to the apple fritters, to the wildberry crepes, to the fried catfish ... I'm seriously weighed down.

I'm uncomfortable in my own skin.

Now, I must give myself a little credit for working out in the resort gym twice last week.

However, the extra food I consumed hardly evened out with the amount of working out.

All I want to do right now is run. Run, run, run.

But, can you believe it's freezing down here? What in the world? I left TN to come back to the deep south of LA and it's freezing, with cold blustery wind and everything.

So, I'm just sitting here waiting for some warmer weather ... longing to run.

Sure, I could ride the exercise bike or workout with Billy Blanks, but I just don't want to.

I want to run. There's just something about running.

And, there's just something about the music a person chooses to listen to as he/she runs.

My friend, Jodie, asked me to give her some songs that she can add to her running playlist. I was hesitant at first. You know I'm all about Christian music, but let's face it ... there's not that much out there that makes me want to run. And believe me, I've tried all kinds of artists and songs. So, my playlist includes some Christian and some secular songs ... the ones that really get me going.

So, here it is. I've picked out my top 10 songs that really make me move (Both Christian and not), and I've tried to include a link if available (when appropriate).
Click the links to hear the songs. Some are videos, some are not.

1. Believe by Britt Nicole

2. Gone by Kelly Clarkson

3. Hello/Goodbye by Jessie Daniels

4. Kick It Out by Heart -

5. Emergency by Paramore (the only band that I have their entire album on my running playlist ... love 'em)

6. Sexy Back by Justin Timberlake ('cause I'm seriously trying)

7. Shine by Krystal Meyers

8. Single Ladies by Beyonce' (Have you seen this girl dance?)

9. So What by Pink

10. Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'N Roses (for old times' sake)
Makes me want to run right now. Come on, spring!

What IS it about Single ladies? (the Beyonce song) that makes you want to crank it up and get down to it. Seriously, hubby dispises this song, too hip hop for him. I love it. Me and the kiddos are always putting our "hands up"

Yay!! Thank you! I may have to snag some of those for my playlist. Especially the Timberlake song... gotta keep my eyes on the prize! :)

Some of those are new to me, and I love new music - so thank you! Can't wait to hear them and get out and run again... but first, warmer weather! Are you going Saturday morning??

I can't get into Beyonce, but I dig the Guns N Roses. "The Jungle" gets me moving.

Downhere has a song "The More". Great song to move to for the Christian Contemporary fans.

I love those songs...thanks some of them I have never heard, believe it or not, because I thought I was musically set! :)

I hear ya about eating to much and then needing a good run!

A foot of snow has fallen here and it's still coming down. The only place I'm running is to the bathroom. Let's hope March actually goes out like a lamb and takes the cold weather with it.

I heard ya'll were gettin' what we got Saturday. It snowed all day and was beautiful. It mostly melted away yesterday. I love snow at this time of year, 'cause it doesn't hang around!
I walk like you run but I just can't make myself get out in this cold weather. I'd rather stay in by the nice warm fire, and read.
Glad you made it home safely.

Sorry, you lost me at loaded baked potato. I'm trying my best to stay on the South Beach Diet, and sadly, I've had to give up my most favortie food in the entire universe.

I hate running, but looking at these songs, maybe they will inspire me...

I'm not a runner...well, unless someone is chasing me. But I do walk and thanks for the reminder I need to get back started.

I liked your list of tunes. One of my favorite Contemporary Christian bands to walk to is David Crowder. And I especially love his Sunset and Sushi CD for walking. And Toby Mac is another good one!

I can't run anymore because of my stinking foot, but I can jam on the bike!! WOO HOO! Thanks for the songs!

BTW - I tagged you!

You should definitely check out Shackles by MaryMary. (It's also called Praise You) Gets me moving anyway!

I'm not a runner though. It still gets me moving, dancing around my house like a lunatic. LOL for the video. :-)

And you're not the only one feeling 'heavily burdened' lately either. LOL

I know what you mean, it's hard to find good christian songs to workout to. I have some that I listen to while I'm on my treadmil or my eliptical and it just has to have a good beat and fast tempo to keep me going. I have to admit that I do listen to some secular songs for working out too. I'll have to look on my ipod and maybe share some of them with you. I'm just gettin' ready to start back on my exercising's time to get back into more messin' around for this girl!
