Oh, Crab!

After picking up the girls at school today, La Petite Belle proceeded to tell me this ...

La Petite Belle: Momma, I know three curse words.

Mama Belle: What?!?

K Belle: She learns them from  movies.

La Petite Belle: No, I learned them from you.

K Belle: No, you didn't.

La Petite Belle: And I learned one from Daddy.

Mama Belle: What?!?

La Petite Belle: Yeah, K Belle (except she used her real name), you taught me "sucks."

At this point, I'm thinking ... OK, good, sucks is not as bad as I was thinking.

La Petite Belle: (very matter-of-fact) Yep. Sucks, crab, and ass. Daddy taught me crab.

Mama Belle looks at K Belle and they bust out laughing.

La Petite Belle: What does crab mean?

Mama Belle: First of all, it's not crab, it's crap. And it's a not-nice word for poop.

La Petite Belle then busts out laughing.

She is very amused at the definition of this new word and wonders why Daddy would say a word that means "poop."

Don't worry. I told her these words were not nice words.

One thing's for sure, she does know how to make me giggle. I sure do love that girl.

I am looking forward to these days! My younger brother once said, "Mom, when I get older I 'm going to say bad words because they make you cool"

RYC..You know, I used to to wish I could do some things that others could do (ahem..like SING).. but then God told me that HE gave me the gifts that HE wanted me to have. Thank you for blessing me with your singing while we lived in LA.....You are awesome

my son came home one day and said, somebody "flicked" me off today at school. The picture I got was another boy flicking a boogie at him!!

I think Oh Crab will have to enter my vocab! ha!

My oldest came into the kitchen not too many weeks ago and said "Mom, Ethan just said a naughtly word" I said, "what naughty workd" he said, "the 'sh' word". Now, I know what I was thinking, but wasn't sure where he would have heard that particular word so to clarify I asked "exactly what 'sh' word?" He replied by whispering "Ethan said shutup" That is definately a bad word. Just not the one I was thinging. Wheww.

Funny. I'm sure it didn't damage her psyche, but if this were Jorge who taught the poopy word, this would be prime ammo for some argument some day. Kidding.

If you got multiple replies from me, please forgive me. I'm having problems with my mouse not working right. If you didn't get multiples, then you can delete this. Thank you

That is TOO funny! My daughter came home from a sleepover saying she was P.O'd. I asked what that meant...."I'm not sure but I think it means Partied Out."

There is a song from Rascal Flats and it spells out C-R-A-P. My oldest thinks it's funny to spell it instead of just saying it. Also my 3 year old said the other day he knew the "B" word. I'm thinking great, where did he hear that. Then he blurts out BABY! I'll take that one any day over the one I was thinking of.

Oh Crab that sure was funny!
Don't you just love those moments? I try to write each one down.
I wonder what she'll think of the next time you fix crab?

You mean that handsome, debonnair man all dressed up to go to the store would say the word "crap?" ha!

This entry made me smile. I love when they are innocent enough to tell us these things and hope they keep those open lines of communication.
