Christmas Shopping Mess

It's what I did all day today and still didn't get finished, which is very frustrating to me. I'm the type of person that likes to be completely done by the day after Thanksgiving and it stresses me out that I'm not.

All the stores I went to today were a mess. I might as well have been shopping at garage sales.

As you know, I loathe Old Navy ... mainly because I have to dig through mounds of clothes to find what I want when it's probably going to be in the wrong section of the store anyway. It was ridiculous today. Every table was just a pile of unorganized, unfolded shirts. The clearance section had more clothes on the floor than on the hangers. I was actually chuckling out loud at the mess. But, all their clearance today was an additional 30% off, so I took a shot at it. But who could find anything?

Old Navy, you need to get your act together. I realize everyone and their dog likes to shop at your store because the prices are so cheap and the clothes are mostly stylish, however, Goodwill is way more organized than you (and they even have some of your clothes ... heck, their whole store is color-coordinated, can't get much better than that). So, Old Navy, maybe you should take some hints from them (or actually any other store in the world because they are all more organized than you).

This pic is not so bad, but look at the table in the upper left hand corner.
HELLO!?!?
And I was issued a challenge to read "Twilight," which I may take on, just as soon as life slows down a bit. Then, we can really talk, because I'm totally going into it with a cynical attitude. I'll give you my review as soon as I waste my money (ahem), I mean buy the book and read it.

And, yes, Beau is really going to buy a gun. He told me today he wants to teach the girls how to use it at the firing range. To which I said, "I don't think so." Not quite yet. They're still a little too young for that.

Holy Mackeral! I seldom go to Old Navy, but even then I've never seen them THAT bad! That 2nd picture looks like an aftershot of a hurricane. That is so disrepectful, it isn't funny!

I hate to tell you this...but our Old Navy's here in Iowa do not look like that, they're pretty organized...that picture is TERRIBLE, no wonder you don't like to go there!

You'd be really stressed out if you were me. I'm always in the stores on Christmas Eve...just a few last minute things. :)

You should send those pics to the Old Navy corporate. That is ridiculous. Our Old Navy never looks like that. It is always clean and organized. Also, don't buy Twilight. Go to the library. It will be a waste of money. I liked it but not enough to own it.

YIKES! that Old Navy is ridiculous! Just want to let you know I changed the date of the SHow off your tree to tomorrow...guess you didn't stop by last week...that's COOL, but I made a new button and it's goin down tomorrow...hope your still in. I can't WAIT to hear what you think of Twilight.

It looked like that on a weekday? Wow.

My hubby has a whole arsenal. And even though he has a super high tech safe, I still want him to teach our daughter gun safety and handling sooner rather than later. I would rather have her armed (ha!) with knowledge and skill and even fear than have a "curiosity" accident. Especially since half the kids in our neighborhood play in our house. That's just me.

Good luck with Twilight.....

So sorry you had such a useless shopping trip. Perseverance!
Oh, and on the gun thing. Has Beau thought about getting another dog instead? A dog is WAY more protection than a gun. It keeps you fit, it keeps the kids safe when they're out and about, it's a greater deterrent to potential burglars etc. Plus, no-one can ever use your own dog against you! Then you can take the girls to the firing range and teach them how to shoot, without the danger of them being too comfortable with the 'house' gun.
Not that I'm suggesting for a minute that Roxy Belle is in any way less than perfect!
Good Luck for the next entry into the shopping fray!

Too young for an adult gun? Absolutely. But air guns..nah, they aren't too young..I started learning riflery at Pioneer Girl camp in 4th or 5th grade.

Twilight--be ready to be sucked in and then laugh at yourself because you will keep reading!

Old Navy looks like a dump. Sadly, I would scrounge the floor for a deal with this ecomomy!

I can't stand Old Navy either for the exact reasons you described. Go Goodwill!

My peeps started shooting at age 7 with bb guns and rifles. We don't own handguns.

WOW! I am just glad to know that it's not just our Old Navy that looks like that! I despise it and usually just walk out of the store.

We have a gun. I have NO idea how to use it, so it stays put up and locked because robbers would kill me with it.

Oh my Word! The pictures gave me the Hehs. I am so anti-shopping it is sad. When did that happen? It's like I gave up part of my essential 'girl-ness' by hating to shop.

I have gotten old.

Hope that you are close to being through with your Christmas shopping. Then you could come to Alabama and help me? :)

Be blessed!

My girls and I have pretty much quit shopping at Old Navy. Our store looks much like yours so it is not just your store. The people that work there always look at us like our hair is on fire when we ask them a question.

Makes me growl!!! Customer service has gone down the drain and I don't even use the coupons I get from them anymore. Just not worth the aggravation :}

Based on Sarah's comment, it must just be LA Old Navy's, because all of them here AND in Shreveport look like that, which is why I never shop there.

I'm tempted to cynically read Twilight too since my sis-in-law won't stop talking about it.

I have an article for you about Twilight. It came in one of our Focus on the Family magazines. I saved it to share with you. I'm going to stick it in my purse so remind me to give it to you this weekend.

Wow. Our Old Navy's don't look like that either. That is terrible for bussiness!

Good will rocks!

I totally agree with you on Old Navy. It's crowded, unorganized, and takes forever and a day to get your stuff and get out of there. And, just to brag, hehe, I finished my Christmas shopping on Black Friday. ;) Maybe I haven't gotten them all wrapped, though...lol!
