Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' ...

Last family picture - 2004
Not kidding when I say cherish every moment. It sounds so cliche' and when my girls were babies and toddlers, I couldn't wait for them to be able to do certain things, like potty, eat real food, talk, walk, etc. Oh, how I wish I had those days back, especially the days of rocking them, holding them, singing to them, and them thinking Mom and Dad were the best people in the whole world.

Now, I'm not saying there are benefits and joys from them being older now. I'm just sayin' treasure it. You can't get it back. I hate when I can't remember some of the things about them as babies, especially K Belle. Take lots of pictures and journal.

Family pictures - 2008 (Still working on them for Christmas cards) Just some samples.
Must crop fat rolls.
Love this one.

The silly ones.

They're all so awesome! I'm always a fan of a silly one for Christmas cards - but that's just me.

Thanks for this post. I really needed someone to tell me that. To tell me to slow down and treasure this age. It's hard sometimes, though. I so often want them to be able to do things for themselves, but I need to slow down and treasure that they still need me right now because the day is coming when they won't need me quite so much, isn't it?

I love, love, love these pictures. I think my favorite is the last one because it's not staged and there is so much personality and fun! You have a beautiful family!

I love so many of them, but the last one is my favorite. I would use that in a Christmas photo. Posing pictures are okay, but these really show more than just the looks and how much someone has grown. LOVE IT!

When I would hold my son when he was a baby, I would just close my eyes and memorize how he felt and smelled, how he fit to me. We adopted him and I knew we couldn't afford more, he would be our only child. I can still conjure up what he felt like and he's a 5'7 3/4" 14 yr old now!

They are beautiful!! Wow, really gorgeous family. I love all of the different shots you got.

I know what you are saying. It has gone by so fast already. Some days I find myself wishing for my boys to be past the dependent stage. And yet, at the same time, I know I'll miss it.

Is it sad that we take family photos -- even though that it's just me, Hubby, and our puppy? =)

Oh I love the family pictures. It's stressful because you want "the" shot and yet look at all the real-ness in them. You all look so loving and fun!
I was just telling Hubby I miss that squeaky, baby grunt newborns make in their sleep....I so miss the rocking and cooing and baby laughs...

Your pictures are so good. Your hair looks great. I gotta get started too. One year I just sent out New Year's Cards. I might do that again. Not ready for Christmas at all.

Great, great pictures! I love them all, but I especially like the one of you and your daughter. It's so precious. I like the one of your husband looking through the door at your girls...so creative. They are going to make wonderful Christmas cards.

LOVE the black and white ones but they all are great! I am sure your card will be beautiful. Make sure you post the finished product so those of us who only know you in bloggy land can see it too! (You could wait till the week after you mail them so your real friends could see them first!)

You just about have me crying over here...I don't want the time to slip away so fast.

Too bad you can't incorporate ALL of these into your Christmas card...your family is beyond gorgeous.

And trust me...I have a MYRIAD of fat rolls to crop.

Ok, I don't even know you and the last picture brought a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat. What an awesome picture of your family just being together. I love it!

I'd go for the very last photo. It shows the love you all feel for each other. And it's fun!

I know what you mean about missing your baby times. The last time my youngest came home for a visit (she was 25 then), I made her sit on my lap so I could cuddle with her. She loved it too.

It made my heart hurt when you said "take lots of pictures." Our computer crashed last year, and I lost all our pictures from the previous four years.

So I'll add: Take lots and pictures and KEEP UP WITH YOUR BACKUPS.

Love that last one!

Great pictures! I love that last one...the smiles are beautiful!

And a good reminder for me today...Jake is driving me so insane that I was trying to figure out where I could get a job and where I could drop him off at because right now...I'm not enjoying being around him 24/7.

I'll try to regain some perspective from you :)

Thanks ;)

Love the pictures. We always take a new family picture every year around Christmas. I get a ton of wallets and use them as name tags. I write who they are to ont he back and they will always know who the gifts are from.
