Seven Days to 37 (cringe)

In seven days, I will be 37 years old. Boo.

Here's the questions I have:  Can you still say you're in your mid-thirties at 37? Or would that be late thirties? (cringe again) LATE THIRTIES! Are you freakin' kidding me? I can't be in my late thirties. There's NO WAY!

I told Beau this morning that I thought maybe I could still pass for late twenties. He gave me one of those looks and said, "I think you could pass for 37." OK, forty-something-year-old smarty pants! Shut it!

So, I'm trying to convince myself that all the beautiful women in the world are in their late thirties or older and are so much more beautiful than those young twenty-something-year-old tarts (sorry if you're that young, just excuse my jealousy).

You may ask ... "Who, Mama Belle? How in the world could a thirty-something-year-old be more beautiful than a twenty-something-year-old? Just not possible."

I'm glad you asked. Let me show you.

I checked out People's All-Time Most Beautiful Women. These women have appeared in their "Most Beautiful People Issue" the most.

Halle Berry 42
Julia Roberts 41
Jennifer Aniston 39
Catherine Zeta-Jones 39
Angelina Jolie 33
Nicole Kidman 41
Michelle Pfeiffer 50
Demi Moore 45
Jennifer Lopez 39

Don't see any twenty-somethings on this list, do you?

Here's a look at some beautiful 37-year-olds (makes me feel better):

OK ... now I'm going to put some make-up on.

I'll try not to be such a big baby and whine about this all week and I'll try not to post about this most horrible event every day.

(And I did not post this to get you all to say how much I look like I'm 16 ... don't laugh ... yes, it's been said)

Okay, I really mean it when I say that it shocked me when you said you are about to be 37, seriously... And not just cus you're one of my favorite bloggers either...
And Beau is one to talk for someone who just got caught on camera! lol just kidding...

Look at that group of beautiful ladies, you fit RIGHT IN!

Besides...50 is the new 30...and if my math skills were better, I'd tell you just how old that makes you.

You can do what I do...go back and look at pictures of you in your 20's (my engagement pic) and then realize how much better you look :)

I just turned 36 a couple of weeks ago...and this made me feel better:

When someone asked about my birthday, I told them that I was 28with 8 years' experience. :-)

You should've seen some of the looks I got.

But I do think my 30's have been far better than my 20's. If I could redo either, it would be my 30's.

And girl, you're beautiful, no matter WHAT your birth certificate says!!

You are gorgeuous and extremely young looking!! Really and truly. :)
That is an awesome mix of ladies which you are catagorized with. Darn- I wish I was older. :)

Oh, Mama Belle - you are young! I know, because we are the same age (for seven more days anyway). I will be 37 in April and I admit that I dread it! I think it is just the number thing. I don't FEEL old. You are just as beautiful as any of those stars
you posted:) And just think - you don't need all that make up and a hair dresser to look that good:)

I think you look just as good as those girls! I would definitely say mid-thirties for at least another year :) I am 49 and holding!!!

As someone in their late 20s, I take offense to this!!!

Just kidding. I think you look awesome! I would have NEVER guessed you were gonna be 37. I would have guessed right around 30, 31 tops.

I will trade you - I hit the 44 number this year and totally freaked! I just tell people that I am 39 plus shipping.

The women you pictured are gorgeous!!! I truly believe women are more beautiful in their thirties, forties and fifties - I look back a pictures when I was first married - I looked like such a baby at 18.

I think you are gorgeous!!! Celebrate ~

I will admit I have been "lurking" on your blog for some time now before I finally got the nerve to start my own and become un-creepy. That being said, you look absolutely AMAZING and I would never have guessed that you were 37. I wish I knew your secrets! Really, you look great and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

By the way, I love your blog. I am originally from Lafayette/New Iberia and it always makes me feel nostalgic when I read your blog. You are super funny too!!!!!

Ok, those pictures should totally make you feel better about you age! And I'll tell you this too, even though I'm still youthful and spritely (ha!) and 20-something, I would NEVER wish to be younger. (No wise man ever wished to be younger.)

Think of the WISDOM these years have afforded you.
Plus I never would've guessed 37 anyway. I definitely would've said "early 30s"... Feel better now?

I like what blessedwith5 said too. Most of the truly remarkably beautiful women I see are past their 20s. Fuh real.

And besides, you look hot! You're one of the lucky ones. With those legs, you don't have to worry about "drawing the eye up", so as to distract from a little "extra" around the lower half.... So I don't feel sorry for you.... ;) Happy early birthday!

First off... happy birthday week. Because everyone should have a week+ to celebrate their birthday!!!

Second, I think any birthday in your 30s just means that you are, like the TV show, 30-something (BTW: I'm 38). But, if we have to quantify it, then at least it is an odd year. Odd numbers are awesome and lucky.

Finally... You totally could make it on the Most Beautiful People list!!!

Again, Happy 30-something Birthday! Have a great pre-week celebration and a wonderfully odd year LOL.

BTW: Saw you over on Lulaville! Glad I dropped by.

YOu seriously don't look a day over your mid twenties! You look so YOUNG...don't dread the long as you look good who cares! :)

You are smokin' hot. At any age.

I'll be 34 in December...does this mean I'll enter my mid-thirties? Gulp.

Drats! I just knew you were going to flash your youthful looking 40 year old blogging friend from Alabama up there. *sigh*

Buck up little camper, late 30's and actually 40 ain't that bad! Trust me, I know.

Girl, you aren't getting any sympathy from me! I hit the big 5-0 last month. At 37, you're still YOUNG! I've only seen pics, but you look way younger than 37.

Mama Belle . . . you have been tagged! Come on over to my blog and find out what you are in for!

Love ya

Girl, you are smokin' no matter what age. Although I can't quite believe you're gonna be 37.

I tried to comment on the above post and Blogger ate it. I'm sure that Blogger is now quite satisfied because it was a GOOD comment.

I think I mentioned that your husband looked like a Belushi in a couple of his photos.

I think one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood is Diane Keaton. She amazes me with her grace and style. Quirky style. And Audrey Hepburn was beautiful her whole life.

Age changes the outer woman but real beauty shines through. I am DONE stressing over my faded looks. I can't get them back so I have decided to be liberated from worrying about it.

I would still love to look like a 20 year old though :)
