Blogging

Queen B tagged me with this meme

Here are the rules:
1. Write about 5 specific ways blogging has affected you, either positively or negatively.
2. link back to the person who tagged you
3. link back to this parent post
4. tag a few friends or five, or none at all
5. post these rules— or just have fun breaking them

I thought it was worth a try.

1. First and foremost, I have strangely enough developed real relationships with people I have never even met. I didn't realize this would happen when I started this little ol' blog. I originally started this blog for three reasons: to keep in touch with distant family and friends, to have something for my children when I'm dead and gone (an internet scrapbook, if you will), and to have a place to write my thoughts and voice my opinions and thoughts. That's it. But, the relationships that have come out of it are an added bonus.
2. I now see things differently in my daily hum-drum life. Continuously throughout the day, I'm thinking, "Oooh ... this would make a great post," or "I have to remember to post about this."
3. And then, there's the issue of time that I have voluntary sacrificed for this love of blogging. I can spend hours, not writing, but reading all of your wonderful posts. I've gotten to the point of having to limit my time on the computer. I can check my email now and then throughout the day, but full-on blog reading has to wait until I have an hour to sit down and read, usually after the kiddos are in bed.
4. Did I mention all the tips I've learned? Thank you to everyone. You have enriched my life. From the delicious recipes and organizing tips to the amazing money-saving shopping advice ... and it's always nice to see you all perform the hardest task of all - parenting. I learn at the same time you're learning.
5. I've gone from being super cool to a computer nerd. Who would have known?
Here's who I tag:
3. Jill

If you haven't noticed, the "followers" gadget is available to all bloggers now, not just the select few. So, please, let me see you. Come on ... make my day.

LOL at the chicken cartoon...I can totally picture someone saying that to me.

I am so with you on the time management thing. It is HARD. I am finally realizing that I just cannot keep up with everyone every single day, and that it's ok.

Are you feeling better now that Blogger stopped discriminating and is letting you use the "follow me" feature? Going now to click and become one of your little followers...

Ok, I'm showing up now! This is a fun thing. . I added the follower thing on my blog too. Did you know that you can import all of your google reader subscriptions? That sure made it easy!
