Still Here - Part 2

The food is packed. (I have never, in all my life, bought squeeze cheese.)
We've got lots of water.
We've got our entertainment together. Granted, if the electricity goes out, which is a given, no movies will be happenin'. Our laptops and cell phones are fully charged and our gas tank is filled.
We even have our sandbags out by the doors. This is our pond area ... just hope we don't lose the fish, especially the $20 koi I bought for Beau for his birthday. I'm hoping he doesn't just float away somewhere.
We are headed to the church first thing in the morning. My friend, Kari, bless her heart, is going to keep Roxy Belle, since we can't bring our pets to the church. Thanks, Kari! You made me cry today. So, that's taken care of.

Two biggest concerns for us are:

1. No electricity. We lost electricity for Lily and Rita for about three days each. It was hot and miserable. The news people are saying to expect to be out of power for anywhere from three days up to a week. Not cool.

2. Flooding. We do live in a flood zone. Meteorologists say to expect lots of rain and flooding, even with the rainfall reaching the double digits, maybe 10".

I'm hoping to get some good pictures for you guys, not that I'm a storm chaser or anything. I will not be doing this ... WOW.

PLEASE! Stay safe - you can come and visit me - we have electricity and do not live in a flood zone! It is warm but not unbearable and our a/c is on. You are more than welcome - just be careful!!

Hugs!

Wow, that video is just crazy! I'm saying prayers here.

I'm almost positive I've never bought aerosol cheese either. I have standards. ;-) But my kids love it because my sister keeps in on hand for her boys.

God bless you, sweet friend. Thousands upon thousands of people are praying for all of you. I'm praying God dissipates it completely. I haven't watched the news yet this morning. Stay safe.

Praying that this is all over soon, even if it means you are left with tons of squeezie cheese and canned meat....

I'm not sure if I've ever left a comment here before or even how I found your blog...I hope that doesn't worry you. Anyway, I'm in Idaho and check in on you from time to time because I like to see what your cute family has been up to. Good luck...I think the worst we ever get here is a good wind storm but nothing like what you're experiencing. I'll be praying for you as well...

Hi Mama Belle, came here via Sarah.

Praying for you guys - looks like it is heading straight your way. Good job getting prepared. My hubby's grandparents live in Baton Rouge and have refused to leave.

Here's hoping and praying you guys don't flood - Rom 8:28!

Wow...being in the mountains, I'll never understand just how much y'all have to go through during these storms. I'll keep praying for you...stay safe and please keep us posted!

This is my first time to comment on your blog. Please know that you are in my prayers.

It sounds like you are not in Terrebone Parish. We moved from Houma to Oklahoma a few years ago. We sold our home in Houma only 18 months ago -- whew -- so glad we did!

Seeing the Evangeline Maid bread and Kentwood water bring back memories.

Looks like you've done a good job of preparing.

May God's special blessings be upon you, your family and your property!
