Apparently I don't smile enough.

Yesterday, we ate lunch at a wonderful, little Mexican restaurant. White queso and fish tacos for me ... Delicious! The girls decided to do portraits of their mother on the paper tablecloth ... only the fanciest for good ol' Mom!

Here's K Belle's:
Here's La Petite Belle's (I'm the one on the left, not the smiling sister with freckles.):
Notice my expression on each picture. I do not look very happy in either one. I guess I need to work on that. So, if you see me, and I have that fake, school picture smile, you know why.

Well, at least I'm an "awesome mom," according to K Belle, even with the sour expression.

Isn't it amazing how our children "see" us?

Love the doodles!

My kids' art always makes me wonder how they really see me. Cute pictures.

Mama Bell . . . I couldn't agree more about the cell phone usage in a car! I am guilty of using one in the car, but have also found myself not as observant when doing so.

Thanks for the comment!

I happen to be a little taller than my husband, so when our kids drew fam portraits, they always made me an Amazon woman.

K Belle has drawn you shortly after thyroid surgery, apparently. So that would explain the lack of smileage!

;o)

Seriously, the amount of detail they both employed is amazing!

I have blogged about the "countenance thing" before too. Hard realizing that we don't always come across as a ray of sunshine!! HAH!

We really just have to be ourselves though, high school year book mug shot or no.

Wow, they are super talented. Really. And take comfort in the fact that they know you are an awesome mom!

K Belle's picture really looks like you - with a smile added of course! :) You always look bright and cheery in the photos I see of you. Well, I guess I shouldn't say ALWAYS, because some photos on your blog have been downcast to make a point. :)
Any way, Way cool drawings!
I'm so bummed that I have been out of the bloging loop for a while and missed your giveaway! :) Looked like tons of fun. I am very interested to hear about your weekend!!! Should I be jealous?
